The most beautiful aspect of a boudoir experience is that it can mean so much more than just gorgeous photos. We are so proud of our recent client, who chose to invest in herself and has been on the journey of becoming a woman who is comfortable in her own skin.
Check out what Miss J. Had to say about her experience.
“This is 42. You don’t have to like it or love it. But I do! As most women, I think I struggle with body image and self love. It’s hard y’all. It’s hard to not look at the way things fold or wrinkle…things that didn’t used to do that….and not frown. However, I remember that my body has done some pretty amazing things. It’s given birth to three eight pound + babies and one almost eight pound baby. It nourished all four of them for at least their first year of life. It’s been good to me and to my children. But…I wasn’t always happy with it.
“YOU HAVE BEEN CRITICIZING YOURSELF FOR YEARS AND IT HASN’T WORKED. TRY APPROVING OF YOURSELF AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS.” – LOUISE HAY
I saw this quote last year and determined to do whatever I needed to do to love my body. I got my Peloton last March and I am now a walking advertisement!
. Not just because I lost over thirty pounds, but I’ve truly enjoyed it. I can feel myself getting stronger, and Lord knows I need to be to move Charlie from place to place. The variety of workouts has totally appealed to me and I can always find an instructor and class to match my mood. Some days, it is definitely harder than others to make it through the workout, but instead of beating myself up for not performing at my best – I’ve realized that at least I took the time to invest in myself and that’s more important than any metric I didn’t hit.
I AM OBSESSED WITH BECOMING A WOMAN COMFORTABLE IN HER OWN SKIN.
Part of investing in myself was a photoshoot with my sister, @ashleylayden with @modernmuseoklahoma . I wanted to document what will always be a work in progress, but what I’m learning to love in the here and now. Yes, there is still about 38 things I would change, but that is ok. Maybe they are things I can change and maybe they are things I can’t. The most important thing is loving the body I am in and being grateful that it has been able to do everything it has needed to do.
SHOUT OUT TO ANYONE WORKING ON LOVING THEIR BODIES BECAUSE THAT SHIT’S HARD AND I’M PROUD OF YOU!!”
Miss. J.
