Top 5 Tips For Your Boudoir Session | Modern Muse | Oklahoma City Boudoir Photography

We’ve put together a list of our favorite 5 tips before embarking on your first Boudoir experience with us. We always want to make sure our clients are fully prepared when they walk through our doors! One of our favorite aspects of working with our clients is helping you prepare…

So, here are the top five tips we give every client before their session with us:

Stretch

You may think this sounds funny but we contort and move your body in ways you haven’t before. Stretching before will definitely make a difference, even if you are already really active and fit! Focus on stretching your neck, back, shoulders, legs, and practice pointing (and holding) your toes/feet by coming up on your toes! (Especially if you are going to be barefoot.)

Drink tons of water

It’s important to stay hydrated, especially leading up to your shoot & on the day of your shoot! Drinking plenty of water leading up to your session helps clear up your skin and helps flush out any belly bloat. It will also help prevent cramps during some of the poses on the day of your shoot!

Arrive with a clean face and clean, dry hair

It’s very important to show up on the day of your shoot with clean, blow-dried hair and a clean face. You can put moisturizer on if you wish but other than that our Professional Hair and Makeup artist, Ashley Tolman will do the rest!

Practice parting your lips

Seriously! If you’re following along on our Instagram or Facebook Group, you’ll see that many times our client’s lips are parted… we do this for a specific reason! To soften your face. Have you ever felt like you have RBF if you aren’t smiling? I know I do… so we part those lips to soften your face and give you a gorgeous seductive look without being over the top! Many times if you aren’t used to doing this you may feel a little silly! So start now and it will feel a little more natural come your session day!

Take some Tylenol before bed after your shoot

Trust us on this one! You WILL be sore the next day! We move your body in ways you most likely aren’t use to and this will help with some muscle inflammation.

We hope you found these tips helpful, especially for those of you who have an upcoming Boudoir Session booked with us! We can’t wait to see you.

And we can’t wait to get those of you who haven’t pulled the trigger yet into our studio for a session! You can inquire about setting up your dream session here.
