Garter belts are a great addition to beautiful lingerie pieces! We love the garter belt with thigh high stockings look. These are a comfortable option and ultra sexy. Let’s talk pros and cons of garter belts.
Pros – They accentuate your legs and booty, giving you amazing curves and an elongated silhouette.
Cons – They can be intimidating if you aren’t sure how to put them on.
This is where we come in.
We’ve got a few simple steps for you to follow to make them so easy and comfortable you’ll be dying to rock these for your very own boudoir session.
How To Put On Garter Belts
- Most garter belts are either a hook and clasp (Similar to traditional bras!) or an adjustable strap. You’ll want to make sure that the garter belt fits securely and isn’t sliding down your waist. To know that you have the garter belt on the right way, the clasp or adjustable strap will be against your back, the garter straps will hang down on your legs.
- The garter belt should sit at your natural waist.
- The actual straps should sit about a quarter to a third down your leg. Each individual strap is adjustable and you’ll want to make sure that they are even.
- Now, this is usually the trick part. You will attach each strap to your thigh highs. One strap will attach in the front, and one strap will attach in the back on each leg. To open the garter strap there is a silicone piece that you will slide up out of the loop it is attached to. Once open you will slide the silicone piece on the inside of your thigh high, and the plastic piece of your garter strap on the outside. Once placed you will slide the silicone piece down into the plastic loop to secure the strap. You will do this for all 4 straps. Adjust as you need and to what feels comfortable.
With practice you’ll get the hang of it in no time! If you need any help at all we’ve got you. We always help our clients make sure their garter belts are on and secured correctly and look great it your photos!
